Most churches are far too inwardly focused.
The deepest and most enduring change will only occur in spiritually healthy churches and ministries (and that this is often overlooked).
Process matters (see my previous blog) and it’s essential to have the right people involved in the process.
Many ministries place a greater value on keeping people happy than leading courageously.
It’s better to do a few things very extremely well, but choosing those few things will involve difficult decisions.
A high level vision isn’t enough – true strategic direction isn’t established until specific plans and commitments are made.
I have other biases, including some that I’m not even aware of. I list these for two reasons. First, if you consider hiring me as a consultant, you should know I will listen carefully and will keep my biases from driving the conversation, but I’m not unbiased. Second, I hope it will encourage you to examine your own biases and recognize how they impact your leadership and your organization.
