all leaders to consider. It’s a layer that points to the ways that we communicate (or fail to communicate) with any audience. Far too often, our communication is targeted to the insiders or the “already convinced.” And so we craft an Easter message that is best understood by people who already have a Christian background. Or the roll-out of a new strategy is only understood by those who were involved in developing the strategy. Meanwhile, those who most need to hear the message are scratching their heads and wandering away confused. To compound the situation, the leader’s advisors are the insiders who will have the greatest difficulty in recognizing the communication gap.
