The Coaching Advantage
People in ministry roles generally receive very little training in how to effectively lead others, so they’re left to figure it out on their own.
They often end up doing things that don’t work well, whether that’s an authoritarian approach, or a hands-off style, or all-encouragement-with-no-direction.
This half-day, interactive workshop teaches concepts and practical skills that will enable church and ministry staff members, especially those in leadership positions, to effectively coach the individuals that they are leading (paid staff and volunteers) in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for the team. The workshop:
- Explains the difference between “supervising” and “coaching”
- Defines the foundation that must be in place for coaching to work
- Identifies key skills of effective coaches
- Describes how different kinds of coaching conversations are used
- Provides practical application for real-life cases
As participants develop effective coaching skills, they will experience a new way of leading that will have a lasting impact in their ministry.
