Don’t go to everything. I know that everyone wants you to come to their party, ministry event, etc., but that doesn’t mean that you must attend all of them. Where is your presence truly needed? Which ones will bless you? Figure that out, then say “no” to some of the others.
Read the Christmas story and the great Messianic prophecies. Not for sermon preparation, but just for yourself. Marvel again at the wonder of the incarnation.
Remember your calling. In the busy times, it’s easy to forget the reasons that we’re in ministry. We can get frustrated at busy schedules or cynical about people who show up once a year. Or we can be thankful for the opportunity to share God’s love with so many people that need it, and trust God to do the rest.
None of these suggestions will keep Advent from being busy, now or in the future. But by doing one of them, you may be able to look forward to Christmas a little more.
