Deprives other leaders of the opportunity to use their gifts and makes them feel unnecessary.
Limits the development of future leaders who have not yet discovered their gifts.
Becomes a bottleneck for the organization’s growth.
Ultimately becomes burned out, reaching the point where they can no longer do much of anything.
The next time that someone says of you, “He/she can do anything,” thank them for the complement. Then ask them, “Do you see evidence that I’m trying to do everything?” Getting honest answers to that question could be critical for your organization, for your colleagues, and for you.
